Optional Toppings
Directions
In a pot, bring 1 cup of water to boil and add in all the dashi broth ingredients.
Let the broth simmer on low heat for 15 minutes and pour through a mesh sieve. Set aside.
Gently press the tofu with a paper towel to get rid of excess water.
Cut into equal sized rectangular pieces. I cut mine into eight.
Carefully dip each tofu into corn starch, covering all sides.
Heat up 1 cup of olive oil in a pan on medium high heat and pan fry the tofu on both sides for 5 minutes or more until golden brown.
Assemble the fried tofu neatly in a serving bowl.
Add toppings and pour dashi broth around the tofu.
